Mark Williams said before the tournament started, he would do his winning press conference starkers if he won.
And true to his word, Williams turned up in just a towel to speak to the world’s media.

Turned out to be a memorable final, although early yesterday afternoon it looked as though Williams would win with a session to spare. Amazing change in his fortunes from this time last year after he had failed to qualify for Sheffield and was considering retiring from the sport.

PP have Ronnie O Sullivan as the 2/1 favourite. The defending champion Mark Williams is 12/1 and Mark Allen, the only Irish player in the tournament, is 16/1. If Williams does win it again this year, I wonder will he do a repeat of 2018 and turn up for his press conference naked?

This is the first time that an amateur has even played in the Crucible never mind beating the world number one. It would be a brave person who would make any firm predictions after this result.

PP now have Judd Trump as the 3/1 favourite with Neil Robertson at 7/2 and Mark Selby at 9/2. There won`t be an Irish champion anyway as Mark Allen lost his first round match today.

So the semi final line up at the Crucible has been decided

    Judd Trump v Gary Wilson
    John Higgins v David Gilbert

Not many would have predicted that Wilson and Gilbert would have reached the last four and they may go to cause further upsets against the two big guns.
