    Default Declaration Of Moderation

    The Declaration
"If I was a Moderator I would never ever delete or edit any post unless I could give a real genuine honest valid reason for doing so and I would always give that reason clearly ................ I would also be very open to criticism about my decisions which means (to me) being open to my mind being changed and reversing my decision if neccessary and openly admitting I'd made a mistake.

I would also have to set an example and refrain from posting any abusive language (whether I like it or not!!) because I would feel that being a Moderator comes with some responsiblity.

Does that seem like a good approach to take as a Moderator??
Compare my approach to that of the current "moderators" .............."

This poll/thread is intended to guage what kind of treatment the Members of this site would like from their Community Moderators.

It is a genuine valid question and is not intended to cause any further conflict.

Please feel free to post your reasons for voting the way you did ............. in fact I encourage you to do so.

Please do not post any foul or abusive language or give certain "people" any excuse to censor this thread/poll.

    Thank you.

Seems like a pretty good declaration to me Paws. No arguements there....in fact, it s the sort of approach I would adopt myself in that situation.

I know you would Carlos which is why I always thought if we had Community Moderators that you would make a good one ............. in fact I posted that more than once.

I have no idea why patricia chose the "moderators" she did???

I voted yes on this because i think that if a post is modified in any way by a moderator, he/she should give some reason for his/her actions.
If it besause of bad language, a simple "bad language removed" will do but i do think that some explanation is deserved.
I called for the same thing on the Escort reviews, I didnt think that a simple "patricia smells a rat" was good enough, we need to know why..

Exactly Eps ................ for example west has even resorted lately to actually inserting his own comments into other posters posts when he is losing an argument in the hope of making himself seem less foolish than he obviously is ............. some "moderator"!!!

    Thanks for the vote btw

This bit might need tweaking. Just because a majority of people disagree with a mod's decision doesn't mean that he/she *must* change their mind. I suggest inserting something about 'listening to concerns regarding my decisions' and omitting the '... openly admitting I'd made a mistake.'

    For what it's worth
