Don't know much about this myself but any job where you have to deal with Joe whingebag public should pay more than minimum wage.
Personally I blame the unions which can often cause more problems than they solve.
Escorts deserve their remuneration then, dealing with some of the outer reaches of Joe Public.

    Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

Firstly they don't deal with the public, they are in their own driver's seat away from the public.
They don't talk with the public, they don't sell tickets, they don't deal with complaints.

I'd rather see staff in restaurants and shops paid more than minimum wage.
They have a far more challenging and stressful job.

It's something else when Luas drivers are paid more than teachers and Gardai, and yet are still looking for more.

They'll got no sympathy whatsoever from me.

I agree with most of what you say but not that they don't deal with the public.
I'd say they get at least 3 or 4 scumbags a week banging on the glass.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone but it is.
You don't even need to be able to read to do this job.
    They are already well paid.

I hope they leave them out and break the union.
    Greedy idiots
You forgot to mention the brakes,,so that it can stop..so you also need your foot, and also have to use the mirrors,

Bus drivers have it worse,,and they have to limit the number of standing passengers

I'd say they do. But there was a lot of comments putting down the drivers and I couldn't help thinking that this might be due to posters being pissed off about their inconvenience rather than the actual pay dispute.
Everyone deserves a bit of respect even if they just push a lever or a button for a living.

I respect anyone who gets up in the morning and goes out to work. No matter what they do.

But that is tapered with a belief that work deserves fair pay. Fair pay is a 2 way street. It also means certain jobs are paid less than others. Everyone is not entitled to the same pay as everyone else. Certain people earn more, others earn less. That's the way life is. Just my thoughts.

€32 to €42k is fair pay.
New Gardai, teachers and nurses don't get this.
How can Siptu possibly justify their current wages never mind an increase?
It's not ridiculous, it's completely frustratingly insane
