Default Judge orders money stolen from escorts, to be returned to them!

The wonderful Judge Pat McCartan ordered that what he described as hard earned cash, which had been stolen from 2 escorts, should be returned to them rathered than be re-robbed by the state which the so called Guards wanted!

I am taking this as a foretaste of what may happen when the anti sex worker law is eventually introduced as happens in Sweden, sex workers who will not give evidence against clients will be threatened with having their earnings confiscated for 'evidence' and absolutely disgustingly with having their children put into care!
    Ride them on the beaches!

Fair play to the judge — he has a fair grasp on the situation and ruled very fairly IMO.

Now all we need is a judge to stand up in court and say the same of Ruhama instead of handing the 'hard earned cash' over to them when others are sentenced! Let's hope this is the way forward and not a one off.

Depends on the judge but I presume like all Professions a few of them pay the odd visit to Escorts as well, so might be more in tune with reality.

Sadly they are the ones most likely to put the boot in for fear of being exposed if too 'nice' towards the sex worker.

I've said it before.. if a judge gives money taken from an escort to Ruhama, doesn't that make Ruhama guilty of a crime, no better than a pimp..... "profiting from immoral earnings" to use their words ... what a double standard!

And while it's evil enough to give away money garnered from the hard work done by such ladies, it could also be their savings apart from sex work money!

Following sentencing, prosecuting counsel Tony McGillicuddy BL asked that the € 2,675 be forfeited to the state as the proceeds of prostitution.

“Is it open to me to direct the money be returned to the ladies?” Judge McCartan asked before saying that that is what he intended to do.

“It was hard earned,” he added.
I wonder if he'll actually follow through on it.
I also wonder if the escorts were actually charged with anything. Because if the money is returned in this case because no charges were brought against the escorts then what will happen in similar situations in the future? This might only make matters worse in the long run.
