A disgruntled husband is taking his wife to court for doing a shoddy job of the housework — and she faces six years in jail as a result.

The woman faces six years in jail for 'mistreatment of family'.

The fed-up 47-year-old Italian from Sonnino, has had his wife charged with “mistreatment of the family” on account of her “poor management of household chores”.

According to The Local Italy, the husband has felt “insulted” by his wife’s negligence for more than two years, and has decided to hold her to account for her tardiness.

Not only has he been “forced to live in conditions of poor hygiene”, but Il Fatto Quotidiano reports that he’s also been on occasion kicked out of the bedroom.

His wife, 40, will stand trial for these grave offences on October 12.

The accusation against her — “mistreatment of the family” — reportedly carries a potential jail sentence of up to six years.

The man said that his wife would sometimes kick him out of bed at night, and rarely cooked a good meal.

He also says he keeps buying food for her to use, but that the produce ends up in the bin as his wife rarely cooks.

Campaigners in Italy have called for women who work in the home and their male counterparts to receive a salary in an effort to improve equality.

However, the proposal has not been widely supported.

Daniela Del Boca, an economics professor at the University of Turin, noted the salary would be a “disincentive” to look for a job.

In a 2013 survey, it was found that Italian women on average do 21 more hours of unpaid housework than their male counterparts — a discrepancy that was the most lopsided in the developed world.

I didn't like the part about women not being paid for sitting around the house all day. I mean working in the house (what a laugh)

Fuck me try divorce and you'll know how much they are paid.

It would be cheaper to get any of the girls from here to cook my dinner; she'd probably do a better job of it too.

    Bit misoginist. I mean misnogynist.
I mean written from the point of view of a person who hates or doesn't trust women.

    Surely 2 years is plenty?

But for some, marriage can be a lifetime sentence.

(but in the Irish system you may be eligible for parole after12years, with good behaviour).

If you ask me it's his own fault for not being man enough. If he was properly earning he'd have hired a maid like a good husband.

What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔
