Surely even when FF made such an incredible shite out of this country last time out, they were never like this!

Obviously there would have been traditionally a discrete Detective prescence looking after The Taoiseach, but this is pulling the piss and a reflection of how detested they are by ordinary people and that they aren't going to back without a lot of collaborators!

In fairness it's only one extra Garda with her driver, they are the two top politicians in the country and should have armed protection. This is a complete nothing story, I reckon the same two positions in any other country would be flanked by cops too.

Nothing new here, the President, An Taoiseach & Tanaiste all have full time armed protection. From the Garda Special Detective Unit wiki page
