The drug name is sildenafil.
Originally the world supply was made in the Pfizer plant in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. Viagra is the Pfizer brand name. The drug patent has run out so other companies, often Indian, now make generic version which will have different trade names
Viagra acts by lowering blood pressure, allowing more blood to flow to the peripheries. It is generally safe within proper dosage but as with all drugs individuals can react differently. As above, beware if you have certain heart conditions and do not use with '' poppers''.
Possible side effects may include fainting, headache, tachycardia, persistant, erection. In Ireland, it is a prescription only drug. Much of the on line stuff may be counterfeit and contain varying quantities or none of the drug. If you need to use it, it may be best to consult a doctor and get a proper prescription. At least the drug quality should be consistent, from a proper pharmacy.
Available in 50 and 100mg tablets, I think, 50mg often being sufficient.
Alcohol and too much food in the stomach will reduce its efficacy.
It will take about 1/2 an hour before it begins to work.
Cialis is a related but slightly different drug.
