need 10 posts? and similar issues on moderating your posts

a warm welcome to everyone!

I cannot help but am under the impression that many people joining the forum (a very warm welcome again) feel like they have to post 10x.
was just wondering why?

The forum rules are:

In order to send a PM - no need to have posted anything prior to sending a PM - this is so that you can always PM a Mod if you need us.
If you wish to add a friend  - you need to have posted 3 times
and to thank a post and send an e-mail to an advertiser - 10 posts are required.

let me know if there is something we are missing here.
