Are bookings like ebay can you be out bid?

I just had a confirmed booking here canceled fourteen mins before as the Lady had got an offer of an over nite booking . Is this the case is your booking is just like ebay ie you can be out bid . She seemed to think so as her txt said its not my fault he has offered more money . I would welcome your views on this .

What duration had you booked for?

Alot of adverts state that EI members and regulars will take priority.

I guess that can only really mean take priority over someone else already booked, and if she's perhaps being offered substantially more income as the result of an overnight then I can see why she might opt for that. I guess at least she was honest with you and could've just said she wasn't feeling well or something else.

I know that doesn't make your situation any better - and I don't agree with one side or the other, perhaps there are others out there that would entertain a short notice booking?

She asked if I was definitely going to see her — I thought this was a tad odd as I had seen her before and I always turned up on time. I asked her why she was asking and she replied that if I wasn't going to go she would take an overnight booking.

I thought to myself if I say Im going for just an hour she will lose out on a lot of money and she probably won't be overly happy to see me. I told her to take the booking and I'd reschedule for another evening. She said no as I had booked first but I insisted that she take the overnight booking. Why lose out on €1200 because of my one hour booking?

She did take it and when I met her the following night she was extremely grateful
