Yes - I think you have to give the guy a chance before you say he is no good. FFS, he's barely been a mod 3 days!!!

No I don't, but I did sort it earlier today that there is now no way any community mod can delete a thread without me still being able to see it. That's how I approach these things. There is me here, plus approx 10 staff (some of them new) that could have deleted it, plus 1 community mod. Rather than instigate a witch hunt, I just made sure it won't happen again. Now only me and Sarah can 'hard' delete posts as vbulletin calls it.

Not asking for a witch hunt but it would be interesting to know if your new moderator had deleted a thread asking him about his multiple user IDs and his relationship to Liz hilton as well as to what information he has access to. It goes to the heart of the issue as to whether he was a suitable choice for a mod.

Thankfully you say it can't happen again but leaves the question what other door will we find open after the horse has bolted.

So,you cant get your own staff to confess to you.

If it was me,i keep Sarah-My right hand and eyes
I keep Nicole left hand and my eyes

Rest of them kick in the ass and get a new staff that dont lie.

Or leave everyone without weiges this month except Sarah and Nicole, and maybe they will remember and confess who did it
    I m still lurking sometimes ;-)

I couldn't be bothered track them all down over this, and it is a case of track them down as some days I am not in the office, not to mention because we operate 7 days a week but staff only work 5 days a week (or less in some cases) everyone is not in one place everyday. Also I don't consider this a big deal. I think somebody must have deleted a post that I don't think they should have, i.e. It was the wrong judgement on their part, not that they meant to be "bad". However I should have made sure new staff and community mods could not "hard" delete posts so this would never have happened. I fixed this yesterday, now it won't happen again.

If call99 or anyone else was being prevented from asking valid questions on this site - I would say we have a problem. If call99 got one post deleted but we have fixed the loophole that allowed that to happen and we are all discussing the issue here - I would say we don't have a problem here now, as nobody is truly being censored.

It's pointless making a poll about this. The decision has been made and we should give him a chance. I never remember him having an arguemement with anyone on this forum. Most of his posts are good humoured. He doesn't get involved in petty squabbles here. His friendship with Liz Hilton is irrelevant. I'm sure he'll treat her the same as the rest of us. And if she asks for any special favours, I'm sure he won't. If he did he wouldn't last long in this job as people would soon make it known. Give him a chance. Of course there'll be mistakes at first. A post got deleted, big deal write another one. It's no good blaming him as one of the other staff could've done it. If he has made a mistake he'll learn from it and know not to do it again.
Help Keyla in her fight with cancer. Every little helps.
It could happen to any of us.

I think Cal’s post just got deleted by accident and don’t think it was BBJ that did it and agree with Highway that out of all here he is one who has both good standing and not been involved with other stuff and is willing to have a go at this and people should row in behind him and give him a chance and a fair crack of Patricia's whip.

He is a poster but not a massively active poster, knows he’s way around an all in all is a very 'good choice and its just not possible to find a mod that no one will take issue with as no matter who it is someone will not like them being friends with someone or other so cut him some slack and give him a chance.

The question Cal asked about what happened his post is perfectly valid but its been answered now as having been deleted by someone who maybe was a new E-I staff member and should not have been allowed but it is puzzling why this happened at the same time as we have our very first Com. Mod as posts being deleted is a very rare occurrence but leave BBJ out of the equation as I can’t see the logic in him having done it.

I would ask Stewie to just post whatever it was that got deleted again and leave it at that as this was just crossed wires. I think as in fairness to Patricia she is not a zealot and lets people speak their mind.

Here is a link to a thread were BBJ used his main account and what he has now admitted was another account of his to attack me and then back himself up with his other account. Then had the audacity to accuse me of operating multiple profiles.

His friendship with liz is relevant to the questions I asked regarding the protection of information about posters here. Liz Hilton has already posted personal details on users here and a couple of days ago threatened to do so again.

The deal about post being deleted is that it was a post about BigBadJohn and his multiple user profiles it was not just a random post it was specifically about him and his numerous profiles and the issue of privacy.
Also he still has not given the full list of his profiles.

And the point of the poll is to see what people here think he is supposed to be a community moderator and should as far as possible have the respect and trust of the community. Someone using multiple profiles and possibly deleting posts raising that issue falls down on the trust front.
