Default Merry Xmas ! What is that?

    What constitutes a merry Xmas?

    Not drinking too much?
    Not eating too much?
    Not arguing too much?
    Spending too much?

    Maybe meeting friends and family?
Been at peace with oneself ?
    shopping?
    Holidaying in the sun?

What is your aspirations this Xmas?

Mine - a bit of all the above - to get through it..

Going away for Christmas is great. Did it once a few years back. Punta Cana in Dom Rep. Strolled in from the beach one day, 30 degrees heat to here Dana singing "its going to be a cold, cold Christmas without you" over the tannoy. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I would do it again, but not for a few years, its great not having to put up with the shite that goes on here.

For me it's having a few days peace and quiet to distil my thoughts.

And by distil I mean pull.

And by thoughts I mean dick.

Actually I mean the first one, I'm always self abusing so there's nothing new there.

Christmas was originally about celebrating the birth of some man about 5 gajillion years ago in a galaxy far far away, where his mother helped make him immortal by telling her husband she was fucked by an invisible man that created the sun and the stars, instead of admitting to him that she cheated on him with the fisherman.

Several billion deaths later and add a few years, we have a whole religion dedicated this this fabrication.

    Isn't life marvelous?

Joseph was an old boy, getting on in years and long in the tooth

who took on a young, unmarried, expectant, mother

back in the day when it wasn't fashionable,

so maybe he supplied the background cover story.

Some say, the. dad was a Roman legionary

but that's probably just their overactive, filthy, vivid, imaginations.

    Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.
