    I admire anyone who can speak many languages, but it does have its limits.

    For example, if you can speak “cancer” in thirty languages it does not mean you understand it any better, nor does it bring you any closer to a cure.

    AFAIK, he cannot speak all of them fluently! there is also a slight trick or two in language learning, If you become fluent in a latin based language e.g. Spanish it makes learning associated languages much easier!
    Also given that the majority of spoken language revolves around all small number of words, learn the most frequently occurring words iin that language and it should help a lot! There are frequency dictionaries available in many languages and even some online which list words on the basis of how often they are used in your target lingo!
    Ride them on the beaches!
