How does that saying (curse) go ? : May you live in Interesting Times .

I believe we are living in rather interesting times .

Will be even more interesting to see the Russian retaliation.

: Maybe would put Ukraine on the back burner and let that country recoup ??

Why would Russia put Ukraine on the back burner? That's a key strategic pressure point for them, there attention will never shift from that.

They had a smooth little thing going on : if you had the obligatory $20 in your passport , they would stamp

a piece of paper instead of stamping the passport . : worked like a charm .

: come in from Europe , pay the dosh , and fly to Mex . Then get home . Had great times !! X
Countries that do that should be shot up , well those directly involved i mean.

That's a new saying to me. I love it.

If you were Vladimir would you suddenly start drawing troops out of Ukraine even if you needed them?

Cold war tensions in the middle-east are already evident, the US took steps to remove Russia from international relations, every step that the international community takes seems to strengthen him,

Putin might not be of the same caliber as Kasparov but he's certainly of the same cloth.

    Who's winning this one?

80,000 Russian tourists in Egypt seemingly. Russia to send 44 planes to evacuate them. UK also evacuating its nationals.

    Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

If I waffled on this thread, which I'm sure I did, it's because I had one too many glasses of wine late last night. I apologise. Also if anyone finds a pair of pants in one of the threads ...

    Kasparov didn't have guns .

But I agree : Putin a very smooth , slow burn , Long Term Goals thinker.

Trying to recreate the former USSR influence and territory .
