For most I believe there are born Gay, but for a few opportunists it's a life style choice.

    been gay
go back just a few years in Ireland
been gay meant a fag a queer a puff
it meant been physically and mentally abused
and even in some case's been cast out from your own family
and please don't get me started on what the church thought off gay people
    with their bullshit
    jesus christ
so why would anyone sign up for that unless that was who they are
unless they were born that way
we all need to be accepted
    to fit in
    thank fully things have changed

I'm not taking the piss or looking for an argument BTW.

I had so many negative experiences in a row with female born escorts I thought I'd give TS/TV's a punt.
    No problem IDF.

I'm sure the vast majority of Gay people were born that way and always felt attracted to the same sex or at least had a curiosity towards them from an very early age. But due to stigma attached to being gay most hid this from their public live and some even from their private lives and went on to have girl friends and even marry. However when I was a younger man and attending college more than 20 years ago I meet a man who was openly gay and there was no denying it when you saw the way he dressed and acted. For the sake of this post I will call him very camp. He was a good laugh and he openly embraced his gayness and even brought a couple of us Hectrosexual males out a few times to the george for the crack.
Moving on after college as you do, we lost contact and I hadn't seen him in about 10 years until I bumped into him in a bar in London. We had a drink and we discussed what the other was doing with their lives. He then proceed to whip out his wallet and show me his wife a cracker and 2 lovely kids. And when I asked about him being gay, he just said it was a phase with him and when he left college and swapped parties with mortgages his priorities changed. I suppose you could say he was bi, but at the end of the day he chose the straight life.

Now moving on 20 years I see now, particularly in the media how the gay life style is made look so glamorous and care free, so I see the attraction to it, and if wasn't for the fact I won't let anything go up my arse, I could have being one of those people.

Didn't Robbie Williams go through a gay patch in his life!!

    I hope this explains things

I believe NATURE is so much stronger than Nurture in this regard .

But ! I do believe a more permissive society (Thailand for example) will be much more welcoming to

persons 'on the fence' , and may allow for more free personal expressions of one's sexuality .

Also even in Native American Cultures , there was Always room for The Third Sex . Seems natural to me x

I believe we are ALL , all of us are born on a Spectrum between pure heterosexual and pure homosexual .

It's only one's own duty to himself / herself to find out where they are on that spectrum :

    In my 20s , UniDays my girlfriends and I took it up every so often -- we each had a boyfriend in the meantime ;

sometimes we'd let one join in for a threesome or such (one very memorable : on the golf course in Palm Springs ,

utter bliss : my girl in bed in the room {after some affection} , my boy and I on the course , me naked with arms

hands held high twirling and smiling and just soaring in physical emotional happiness !)

Anyone see anything wrong with such a thing !? Xxx
I do what I want. I cannot do otherwise.

He was not the first. Do you remember David Bowie?

A very interesting reply too, to an interesting thread thank you.

I kind of feel sorry for your pal.

You have to be true to yourself, although it's easy to say that nowadays I suppose.
Why feel sorry, I don't think he had any regrets.
