I find it very disrespectful when guys turn up with a obvious cold, flu or even a cold sore. If I am ill, I am ill for how ever long I have the cold, usually a week, then I wait 48-72 hours after I feel better to make sure the cold has gone before I see someone. Me personally i would never go when I'm sick or can feel a cold coming on.
