The police are onto him now. I'm not sure if he's actually been arrested yet, but his behaviour should stop soon if it isn't stopped already.

Pat, is this the same person who "shopped" Liz to the cops?
I'm just wondering how serious the police took this.
My understanding was that to find someone out from their IP, the police have to go to the ISP with a court order, which must mean that
a/ they take it seriously
b/ they have enough evidence that a crime has been committed and CAN CONVINCE A JUDGE OF THAT

Of course, even then theres no guarantee that they can find out exactly who it is.
It could be NATted, shared, resolve to a company, dynamic or if its in another country, they may just not be helpful.

I hope the harassment stops anyway

Roryman, you're a fierce intelligent man.....all that technical jargon has gone way over my head....but I'm prepared to believe that your word is the Gospel on these matters. There's one advantage to being an I.T. illiterate, nobody could possible accuse me of being behind such a perverse blog.....ffs I would'nt know how to set up a blog or even what a blog is supposed to be. The word aint in my school dictionary (published in the 1960s).

So guess what, I'm just going to be buying the newspapers everyday, Irish Times or Irish Independent and if the Gardai ever bring the perpetrator(s) to book, I'll learn all about it the old fashioned way.

I hope Patricia wont ban the Garda members or the judiciary from here after they reveal the member's real name.
