Default Time for bill to become law

I have not seen good information on this so I did a wee bit of research. I looked on the Oireachtas web site, and followed what happened to bills published in 2008 (far enough back for them all to have passed or failed). I looked just at government bills, because private member bills fail more often.

Of 34 government bills published (same stage as our bill) in 2008, 31 have become law and 3 failed. Looking at the time from this stage to being enacted, and rounding to the nearest month, times were:

    0 months - 4
    1 month - 4
    2 months - 6
    3 months - 2
    4 months -2
    5 months - 1
    7 months - 1
    9 months - 1
    11 months - 3
    12 months - 2
    14 months - 1
    21 months - 1
    30 months - 1
    36 months - 1
    52 months -1

This is not good! More than half became law inside 4 months. I assume the ones that took a long time were either very complex or met a lot of opposition and neither seems to apply in our case.
