Default Time for bill to become law

I have not seen good information on this so I did a wee bit of research. I looked on the Oireachtas web site, and followed what happened to bills published in 2008 (far enough back for them all to have passed or failed). I looked just at government bills, because private member bills fail more often.

Of 34 government bills published (same stage as our bill) in 2008, 31 have become law and 3 failed. Looking at the time from this stage to being enacted, and rounding to the nearest month, times were:

    0 months - 4
    1 month - 4
    2 months - 6
    3 months - 2
    4 months -2
    5 months - 1
    7 months - 1
    9 months - 1
    11 months - 3
    12 months - 2
    14 months - 1
    21 months - 1
    30 months - 1
    36 months - 1
    52 months -1

This is not good! More than half became law inside 4 months. I assume the ones that took a long time were either very complex or met a lot of opposition and neither seems to apply in our case.

I have resigned myself to the fact I am just going to do a runner...........
I may fake a heart attack or epileptic fit to distract the coppers and then out the door in nothing but my socks
They will need the Garda helicopter to catch me I will car jack a micra or a scooter and I am outta there if I'm going down it will be in a blaze of glory that's my final decision.
If you guys want to go out like one of those sniffling cunts sitting on the end of the bed with the coppers speaking down to you well that's up to yourselves but it won't be me I guarantee it.

I'm going to wear a high viz jacket and carry a water meter.

That'll confuse them sufficiently. As I'll be like one of them.

I need to get me a Garda uniform.

Ah sure... they'd never suspect one of their own, right?
