    Israel, yes.

I have a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians and the injustice done to them.

But as I get older I have a lot more respect for the Israelis and there position. If only they where not such fucking Nazis & played even a bit fair.

    Are you sure about robinson?

It was scum like him that provided the opening for the re-emergence of the ira. or do you not know what happened in the north in the 60s and 70s?

It is unlikely that sinn fein will get into government in the south, but it's good to see that you are fond of the democratic process.

    What utter bollocks.

The modern day Troubles started in 1966 when the UVF shot dead two people and burnt one to death (four years before the Provos emerged from a split with the Official IRA). Later on, various civil rights marches were targeted and banned by the likes of Paisley and Robinson for being IRA fronts (which has been repeatedly shown to be false)

If civil rights had been granted to nationalists and had they NOT been beaten by B Specials and serving police officers (and burnt out of their homes in some cases) then there would have been no need for the IRA to re emerge (history shows that they were a spent force, militarily, by 1962). But unionists created an environment for them to emerge revitalised.

    Learn your history.

So why do you say "fair play" to him, when his party's flirting with loyalist paramilitaries cost many innocent Catholics their lives?

But are you trying to defend Sinn Fein/IRA?

    I'm laughing at you.

"It is unlikely that sinn fein will get into government in the south"

    I hope you are right.
Defend sinn fein? no, I don't see the need, I do laugh at those who jump in and call the ira scum, whilst totally ignoring what happened in the north that forced them to take action. What that action eventually led to is another matter, but hey, obviously there was only ones side involved
Oh, have to love the sinn fein/ira mindset

Ah I see. So your view is that being seen side by side with loyalists is ok because, hey, they do all the killing. The likes of the DUP just provide the ideological justification. They've no blood on their hands.

Interesting to know where people stand on these matters.

So you agree with him when he said the UDA weren't terrorists?

Peter and ian founded ulster resistance, which provided intelligence, arms and funds to loyalist paramilitaries.

    Please explain?
I think you are missing the point, you jump in and call the ira scum, as if no one else was involved, as another poster has already stated, the violence the ira was involved in was started by loyalists, refusal of housing, civil rights, equality. loyalists, killed the first civillians, the first ruc, the first british soldier, but hey, it's only the ira who are scum right?
