Default George Cole has died at 90.

The end of the “nice little earners”.

George Cole has died at 90

He was perhaps best known for playing Arthur Daley for 16 years, between 1979 and 1994.
He also starred in a number of St Trinian's films as shady businessman Flash Harry.
He was 70 when Minder finished but he still worked regularly, with guest roles in the likes of Midsomer Murders, Heartbeat and New Tricks.

I watched the complete Minder DVD box set within the last month. Cole's Arthur Daley was a brilliant character, always looking out for a "nice little earner" exploiting Terry and Ray mercilessly, conning the public, frustrating the police, hiding from "er indoors" drinking VATs, smoking his Panatelas and entertaining the viewing public.

The one thing I could never quite buy about Minder was that ugly loser Terry McCann was so irresistible to women

    RIP George Cole.

From playing the Flash Harry character in the St. Trinians movies to the immortal Arthur Daley, George Cole will always be remembered as a lovable rogue. My favourite line: "The world is your lobster".
