Once when me and my brother were babies , my parents had to stay the night in a train station in London , could not get a place(being Irish) and we were both born in London
I,m afraid Romanian,s are now being treated like the Irish were a few year ago

Hate all kinds of prejudice like this. When I lived in UK, if I had a pound for the amount of times people called me "paddy" "Pikey" or some reference to the IRA I'd be rich. Its just plain ignorance. I have known some very nice Romanian people in my time so I totally agree with Rachel. And FYI... They're not all "Gypsies" either.

Maybe people should step back and ask themselves how they behave on these boards ,prejudice is not all about nationality ,or gender ,or colour or beliefs it starts somewhere ,if people have a dislike for a person of a different colour or sexual preference or belief ( as is their right ) why spread that dislike openly on these boards ?

Yep Suffered that and called a Catholic Irish Bastard a lot, even thought I had an English accent at that time
And then called an English Bastard when we moved back to Ireland as a child

Yep my dad was interviewed by the police once after an IRA bombing, as they say shit sticks
I don,t think that,s a nice term Gypsies to be used either to describe Romanians, as I say shit sticks.

Great and extra friendly people! I studied briefly with a Romanian woman, so friendly and very much someone I wanted to be friends with.

Most of those so-called Romanian gypsies are not actually Romanian it appears that they emigrated to Romania and hung out there but Are not really Romanian
