Not surprising really. People rarely get or keep their jobs based on their successes or failures in this country. It's not what you know its who you know. They'll be probably getting a bonus for their "efforts" bless 'em.

    Angry

That Eircode thing is an absolute fiasco

Ireland has had a post code system in place for a number of years. It works perfectly and is easy to use and it makes sense — it is called Loc8code http://www.myloc8ion.com

Loc8code offered their proven system to the government for FREE but were turned down. When the post code was put out to tender Loc8code were excluded because they didn't have a high enough turn over!!!

Instead the government decided to spend something in the region of €27 million on an outdated system that makes no sense and is not sequential

    It is absolutely ludicrous!!

It's working for me perfectly too. Looking up the address using the code and looking up the code using the address.

Could save a lot of confusion for clients. Just text them the Eircode and the address appears! Handy!

The problem is it cannot be used with satnavs etc. What good is it if you have to locate an address on a map and then write down directions for where you want to go.
