Default Garda Office Arrests Prostitute – Goes Back Later In The Day To Have Sex!

The incident took place the Midlands between policeman and an eastern European sex worker. The arrest was made after more than one escort was found working from the apartment, which of course constitutes as a brothel.

But he said that he was off duty at the time he went back to the apartment, and was therefore fined for a breach of discipline.

How do you feel about this?

For me, the law is the law and because he is a member of the garda, this case shouldn't be overlooked.

Totally agree honey the law is the law. And if for instance their was a robbery or whatever and a Guard is off duty he would still make an arrest as a Guard so he should have been dealt with in the same manner regardless he was on or off duty.

And of course this action will now be used to get any other Guards off such cases now also, its totally f*cked up!!

I didn't know whether to contribute to this or not, as I'm mixed with my thoughts on it. I don't trust the media and that is my first problem. The media have said so much shit about us, I find it hard to believe a thing they write any more. It could well have been an officer who was doing what he had to do for work and didn't actually go a long with it, but did what he had to do. He may have taken a fancy to the lady and booked her later.

I have a client I have met in Dublin a few times who works for the Police. He's a lovely guy, but if I got raided and he was there, then he would have to do his job and make the arrest. I'd like to think he would try and help me out, but he certainly couldn't do that openly if at all.

Then on the other hand, it could be a guy who is power mad and decided to use the fact that she may be terrified at the sight of him to get what he wanted and abuse the situation.

The fact is that we were not there and we don't know.

I hope the lady in question is okay and I hope that she wasn't raped by him, but simply had a booking and it was with consent. Currently it is not against the law to book an Escort or be in a brothel for a man in Ireland. It is illegal to work in a brothel.

Police are just people and they do a job like the rest of us. I don't hate them, but I do dislike people who use their status to abuse others. I just wish I could trust the media to give an honest account and not the one that sells papers.

A lady who no longer works as an escort said she experienced the same thing in Belfast a few years back. The PC came with others to check she had passport and visa etc etc and then came back later in the week for a booking but paid and all was above board and became a regular client of hers.

Floki, if you read the thread from yesterday with the article from the Sunday Indepenent, you will find that the Eastern European escort alleged that the Garda RAPED her, however the DPP didn't proceed with the case. The seriousness of this case isn't apparent from your blog post.

See that puts a whole new angle on it again and if that is true, it is disgusting on every level.

Just because she was a foreign lady probably with bad English he saw his chance to abuse her and used his status of power to take advantage of this too, disgusting

i dont think the system of consent is a good system. i think it leads to cases like this. what should be happening is a form of consent should be signed. takes the sting out of actual love, but is more black and white than this system.
