I sincerely hope you are right but there was a deliberate effort by many in the dáil and TORLERS to conflate the abuse of children (which is of course an abomination!) with sex work!
One thing that would surprise me is if a bill criminalizing punters would get through without us noticing!

When consenting adults face being criminalized for acting in private as we do either now or soon enough, any lawful reaction cannot be described as hysterical!

Nothing really. It wasn't discussed in the end and the bill being passed or attempting to be is to do with a particular aspect of a new bill that deals with the grooming of children.
There is a reference made to a bill from 2007 in relation to sex work. But it is only as a reference.
It is a private members bill from what I have read and is not being presented by the Minister for Justice. As I said that's my read on it from the information available.

It could go to.President straight away if this happens. It's unusual for a justice bill to go back from Seanad it will just be a vote. They will be more interested in holidays now so time is only a few days maybe but it could be different.
