It appears to me that the Greeks are a lazy bunch that fiddle their taxes.
We and the Eu would be better off without them.

This said the Eu probably don't want to cut them off completely as they'll never get paid their debts.

Oh yeah - lets bring back the nuns.

But you're right. If the Greeks had being allowed or able to devalue then we wouldn't be up the creek now. But they had austerity forced upon them so that mainly German banks wouldn't suffer major loses.
The Irish government better have their own exit strategy in place because the major Euro economies will be looking after number one when the shit hits the fan.

I think the Rep. Of Ireland is owed about €360 million by the Greeks (under previous bailout agreement all EU countries had to contribute) which would be fully or partially lost if they default.A drop in the ocean compared to what the Germans and others are owed but still not insubstantial for us.

I wonder if this reasoning is correct?
Greece leaves the Eu. This shows the Eu is less stable to investors.
Money leaves the Eu. Euro devalues.
Imports such as fuel become more expensive.
    Inflation.
    Recession

Can the Eu afford the investment required to stabilise the Euro of Greece leaves?

Says who? The cowardly sheep of Ireland. The very same gobshites that created the mess by voting in referendum after referendum? The sooner the euro falls the better and kudos to the Greek gov for at least standing up for their own people instead of Germans.

    Westside.
