Goes with the territory - "Dear", "Hun", "Babe", "Darling" etc. It is not meant in any negative way, so don't let it annoy you.

I hate when they call me "pet".
I normally address my clients with "hun" or "babe"

I hate being called "Hun" or honey. I will always introduce myself and then expect the lady to use my name. Anything else is impersonal and discourteous

Hardly discourteous! They mean well, and for many of us it feels weird to be called by the name we give them.

I guess we're all different. Weird not to use the name given I reckon

I quite like being called pet names by girls. A few that I am in PM conversation with use pet names and it's nice. I may use my own back too. Each of the girls I've met so far I just used their name when I was with them, and I will continue with that.
