    Default Mr O'Brien

what do you think ladies and gentleman . Do you admire a man who can buy a government ? Buy a judicial system ? Buy up the media outlets that should be independent ? Who can buy the silence of a nation and not be resident here for tax purposes .

Just imagine if this was happening in any other country , how our political leaders would be queuing up to give us damming media sound bites ,and heap praise on our democracy .

And I just see our governing parties are steaming ahead in the opinion polls . What kind of idiots are we ?

I would imagine you are quite young. The Fianna Fail led governments we had prior to this were totally in the pockets of the rich and hadn't a clue how to control an economy spiralling out of control (in fact most of them wouldn't have understood the need to rein in the banks and reckless borrowing of the day. )
The damage to Ireland's economy was done in the early to mid 2000s,the current crowd are just dealing with the aftermath.
And you are naive to think that extreme wealth doesn't buy power and influence , just about anywhere in the world.

That's the kind of bull people spout out when they have no ideas no clue no direction just standing like rabbits dazzled in headlights.
"Just dealing with the aftermath" that's getting old very fast that's one of the first things they said when they got in to government and they are still spouting about it.
If they couldn't fix the "aftermath" by now then they are clearly not fit for the job.
You are a twit spouting the usual meaningless rabble rousing bullshit , that at the end of the day never really means or amounts to anything. No matter who was in government , most of your ilk would have the same old whinging anyway.

O'Brien already owns most of the Media in the country - but that doesn't seem enough for him- now he wants to control everything!

What pisses me off most is that he got an injunction in the courts against RTE releasing documents because these breech his rights as a CITIZEN-

How can he still be a citizen as he is supposedly non resident for years and does not pay any personal taxes in Ireland- add to that he made his initial millions from the sale of ESAT- which was considered to be a ready up between Hin and the politicians.
    Seek and you shall find!

    White flag -I surrender.

    (To closed minds )

And I certainly respect all points of view and understand people will be pissed off with the current government.

But if anyone thinks any other combination in government would do much better or different, they are living in cloud cuckoo land.

You will have your chance to vote on them in the relatively near future anyway and if in Australia and exercised so much about Ireland's future, you can always come back, vote and solve all our problems.

Now read back over the posts again and see where I gave my opinion and when you replied ranting and raving about Fianna Fail, previous governments blah blah blah.

I have no manners for stupid people, Take that whatever way you like
I would suggest you have no manners anyway.

RTE is to challenge that injunction.
    We'll see where that goes.
