Default Sex Workers - Have YOUR voice heard on Monday in Northern Ireland

Are you a sex worker who works in Northern Ireland? This Monday the law criminalising people who pay for sexual services will come into effect there. We are hearing how anxious and worried workers are. We think your voices need to be heard.

You are the experts. This is your lived experience. It is your life the law will impact.

Send us three or four lines on how you feel about this law - how it will impact you, your safety and your income. We will put all the quotes together anonymously and release it so that YOUR voice is heard on Monday. All contact with SWAI is private and confidential.

SWAI is an alliance of current sex workers, ex sex workers, lawyers, academics and community activists working to advocate for and promote the health, safety, civil rights and right to self-determination of female, male, cis and transgender sex workers in Ireland. SWAI believes human rights, harm reduction and a decriminalisation approach to policy and laws around sex work is essential for the safety, health and welfare of sex workers. SWAI believes sex workers themselves should be at the centre of the development of policy which directly impacts their lives.
