It's good to see we're not as closed minded and backward as we once where Well on some subjects anyway

The wishes of 30% of the country have been blatantly ignored to cater for a tiny minority. Democracy gone mad. Vegetarians constitute a similar sized minority. Should we hold a referendum outlawing meat consumption to cater for them?

Since You Raised The Subject Of Vegetarian Rights and a Referendum to Outlaw Meat Consumption, Word an Entry for The Constitution That is Appropriate, ninebitree,

A democratic state caters ,in as much as it can ,for its minorities.
In a true democracy freedom of religion or freedom to vote for a political party is taken as a given. Now freedom to marry whomsoever you wish has been added to these.
And by doing so the majority heterosexual population will not be threatened in any way.
As regards children (sometimes mentioned with the definition of the family by the "no campaign) the laws on child welfare are already there only to be implemented properly and adoption laws are quite stringent for anyone of any persuasion.
Today's amendment doesn't change these things in any way.

Your logic is flawed.Todays marriage amendment doesn't outlaw anything but instead allows something.

Don't think many will be getting married in Leitrim or Roscommon anytime soon
