going off topic a bit, but christopher hitchens was discussing this once (when he was debating with tony blair i think) a lot of the world believe that jesus was the son of god and yet if you were sitting beside someone on a bus and he(that person on the bus) said he was son of god, would you move closer or edge away? dont know about you but id be edging away

    always made me laugh

That Jesus, being a bearded, darkish skinned , Middle-Easterner, wearing robes ; might have ended up in Guantanamo , is the premise of the above.

Just one question 'How do you know that god is a man,' many believe that when God created man She was only joking.

So Jesus grew up with a father figure and a mother figure. What's this to do with gay marraige? The referendum isn't about surrogacy.

You are so right this poster has nothing to do with Gay Marriage and neither do so many of the posters which the no side are using.

Yes as I like to try to finds the positives and negatives in everything but as the years pass the negatives seem to far outweigh the positives.

They provided a lot of education and nursing /medical services for Catholics at a time when no one else was inclined to do so.
Sure , they made many mistakes, often shrugged off or covered up those mistakes and failed to move with the times, but many of their mistakes were repeated or worse things were done around the world by plenty of non- Catholics.
Is is easy to look back from the ivory tower of the present , to past times when things were very different and people thought very differently.
