Our lovely Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald (the who wants to interfere in our bedrooms) has been spearheading this decision to use revenue to get the money. The whole point is that there isn't water everywhere, we are haemorrhaging water. About 50% of our water is being p*ssed away due to leaking pipes and dodgy infrastructure which needs to be fixed. Reservoirs are under pressure constantly for water. We're broke as a country so we had to find some way to pay for it. That's what will happen with the water charges that some people will pay, they will be used to put this right.

You're looking at your point the wrong way, it's always raining, morning noon and fucking night, yet we still have shortages in water and there are a lot of places who have a terrible standard of quality water, does that make sense?

I don't think Irish Water went about this the right way, but there's a need for this, it's not for a laugh it's being done.
It's the easiest thing in the world to be opinionated, and it's a lot harder to be informed, do the hard thing.
