I can't imagine there's that much money in it, it is thriving due to the Internet but the market is absolutely swamped, people don't pay for porn anymore. If guys or girls escort they can be discreet n hide their job if they choose to but with porn your out there in the public and with Ireland being so small and parochial I'd imagine that doesn't help

Ireland is a small country, everyone knows everyone kind of thing.
Ireland's culture would not be sympathetic to or tolerant of porn.
That culture means Ireland rushes to embrace the "Swedish model" law whereas, for the moment , Britain and France have rejected it.
Even " top- shelf" type magazines such as found in Britain are illegal in the Rep. of Ireland.After 40 years the Sun newspaper even decided page 3 was not in line with Irish culture.
And as stated above the potential for profit in porn is much diminished due to illegal uploading, downloading and the vast amount of it available free on line.
This was explained to me recently- very quickly when a porn film is released , it is illegally uploaded and this happens so often the copyright holder cannot chase everyone and if they get a successful prosecution, the person caught often has no money to pay damages.
