The reason I ask is that at present two brothers (or sisters) sharing a house are severely penalised when the first one dies.

Gift tax, or CGT .or Inheritance tax applies,,which is at present grossly unfair.
A brother and a sister can already marry according to this logic. Marriage Equality and incest are two wholly different things.

Semi retired comment hhahaha. This referendum is a load of shite anyway considering gay couples are cohabiting mostly anyway. They are using it as a stepping stone to adoption though. Much much much more important than getting 300,000+ people back to work.

No! It is equally as important because it will broaden the debate that in General non-hetro Individuals are still Discriminated against Covertly by a Worringly high percentage of Organisations Still, Employment figures for Gay Individuals is a non issue because of this Covert activity

Gay couples can and do adopt children as things stand.

If you get married in a registery office (male and a female), the CHURCH don't recognise that marraige
and guess what not only will they not recognise a gay, civil marriage, but are actively campaigning
to outlaw that from being possible. Shame on them.

Answer is NO it is against the law at this moment and after referendum whatever the result it will remain so.

I'd rather you take every single state law to do with marriage, relationships, sex, the family and remove every one of them.

The government has no business interfering in any of that. Leave people figure it out for themselves, they'll do a far better job too.

Sadly that's not an option that'll ever be on any referendum.
