    Default Geography and Local Knowledge

I see Carrickfergus Castle is in Co. Armagh according to Escort Ireland’s blurb about Armagh Escorts. [Sponsored by Brigit Jones’s Diary, the Edge of Reason]

What other interesting things have you found out about Ireland through Escort Ireland’s musings?

The river that forms the boundary between County Armagh and County Down runs through Newry, so technically part of Newry is in County Armagh and part in County Down.
Newry Town Hall is deliberately built on a bridge so that it is neither County.
The postal address of Newry is County Down, although most of the town itself is in County Armagh.
And Newry is a simple example. I know of other towns/cities that cross County boundaries and some that are actually split by the border, and are called by different names depending on which side they are on.
For example, Moy and Charlemont are the same village. Charlemont is on the east bank of the River Blackwater and is in County Armagh, and Moy is on the west and is in County Tyrone. The two are joined by Charlemont Bridge. The river is the boundary between County Tyrone and County Armagh.
Another is Tullyhommon and Pettigo. Again, both are the same village. Pettigo is in County Donegal, Tullyhommon is in County Fermanagh. The two are divided by the River Termon, which forms part of the boundary between Northern Ireland and the Republic.
    Plenty of other examples.

I see Escort Ireland have taken the hint.

Lessons from the El tutorial of life.

I have learned much of a world , about which I knew next to nothing a mere 12 months ago.
I have learned how to spend money as if it were going out of fashion (but did this already anyway. )
I have learned that very many escorts are extraordinarily , beautiful, young women.
I have learned much about real estate (apartments & hotels) in certain places.
l have learned much about the law that applies to sex work in Ireland.
I have learned I may be a criminal in a few short months (but maybe am already anyway).
I have learned that escorts are normal women , both ordinary and extraordinary at the same time, that have chosen a sometimes difficult life for themselves.
I have learned a little of women, perhaps "Terra Incognita to me before this.
I have learned a couple of words of Czech, Hungarian, Polish and a couple more words of Span ish.
I have learned only one Portuguese word- I have neglected Brazil.
I have learned much about myself.

    So Merci a vous, EI.

Things to do in County Armagh
Northern Ireland has some of the finest castles on the island. Back in the mists of time some of the most remote places in Northern Ireland were bustling. Through centuries of war, siege and expansion, Carrickfergus Castle was Ireland's most formidable stronghold. Enjoy a visit to this magnificent castle with an Armagh escort and learn how the castle played an important military role until 1928 and remains one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland.

I see Carrickfergus Castle has returned to County Armagh, according to Escort Ireland.
Carrickfergus Castle, however, is in, err, Carrickfergus?
