In fairness to the OP, he is asking a reasonable question. To those that say there is no shame to admitting to working in the sex industry, I applaud you. That is a point of view that will sit well with a majority of posters on this forum.

But let's shift the paradigm. Let me take another example at random. What if I told you that I killed perfectly healthy cats and dogs for a living . How would the population on here feel about that? Something to be proud of, or to be ashamed of?

Whether we like it or not, those who participate in the sex trade are probably a minority in society and therefore should not expect the wider society to share our opinions and values.
