We can though kate as they are in talks more and more now with their Northern counterparts and it'll will run along the same guidelines as the Northern Bill.

Nothing to do with speculation really. That`s what is stated in the published proposed bill. As it has support from all sides in the Dail and Seanad, there is zero chance of any of the wording or the penalties being altered.

With this right wing blueshirt governments longing for a police state, (supported by that joke of a "Labour" party), and this new dedicated Garda unit I would be of the opinion that the Garda will have little discretion in the matter and will be on instruction to bring cases to court ASAP in order to show how great a "law and order" party the blueshirts are. Their moronic braindead sheep supporters love that kind of mindless rubbish.
All it will take is a couple of court cases, fines, and names published and the game is over for all intents and purposes IMHO.

I disagree - the game wont be up - for example, its already completely illegal to solicit/buy in public yet street prostitution is still going on and there are clients willing to pay for their services despite the vulnerability of being in the open.

Prostitution will just move to apps like tinder and sites like plenty of fish . Some clients will give their punting phone numbers to particular escorts to text them when in town.

There'll be a lot more outcalls to hotels - alot more 'massage' parlours where both genuine and extra services will be offered.

It will also be interesting to see whether escorts will 're-brand' to 'porn star ' where payment comes in the form of membership fee to her site payable by disposable visa.

Gardai will target brothel visiting clients in order to close them . Under proposed legislation , the ladies and the gents visiting them will both be prosecuted.

Short-term : a definite contraction in the sex trade
18 months post law : sex trade will increase as economy picks up further
Long term : laws deemed unconstitutional and removed

The point I was making is that the game is up as we as punters know it now. It is going to make inforcing this law easier for the garda with sites like this, in that the can easily find the location of escorts through sites like this, and simply set up outside locations and nab punters as they leave.
As to street prostitution, i really cannot see imo many of the punters that use this site visiting street prostitutes. Especially after the media coverage garnered by the garda from the sting operation they carried out in Limerick not long age where a undercover female garda was used to catch and prosecute punters who were dragged through court and their names and addresses published.
The outcall idea could work, but that is going to depend on the escorts doing such. Unlike the presnt where many have it on their profile, but in reality either do not do it, or the prices are so exorbatint that it`s unfeasible.
I dont think any law will ever stamp out prostitution, but to borrow a phrase from Spock, it will always be there, but with this new law, "Not as we have come to know it "
So yeah, in reality, I for one really believe the game is up.

Though not specifically related to the Swedish model, The Supreme Court in its infinite wisdom has just ruled that the pigz can no even deliberately ignore your constitutional rights (talk about a blueshirt police state) in gathering evidence in a suspected crime investigation!
This has 2 huge implications for us when the Swedish model cums in -
1 it means much less effort for the pigz to gain convictions against us
2 if our SC is made up of Gobshites of this calibre, we have fuck all chance of getting such a law deemed as it is, unconstitutional (it's very much so, in reality!), so The European Court of Human Rights will have to be visited in the long run!
