    Default Happy New Year

    Happy New year everybody
Hope 2009 is a good year for u all
Glad to see the back of 2008 because after
careful evaluation i came to the conclusion
that all round it was a pretty shite year
    Roll on the good times

It must be New Year somewhere in the world already so Happy New Year. Isn't it strange we think the next year will be better but it's always the same in the end.

Remember Ber shit happening is part of life, shit will always happen. The trick is to control how you react to it.The less you react ,the less of a grip it will have and the easier it is to refocus.Of course its easier said than done. Some things in life we have very little control over ,death, illness, the behaviour of others etc. but if we can carry something ,even something small forward with us, then we have grown as ppl.Remember some of lifes hardest times are the ones that forge our characters the most and build what we are today.
People should move into the new year not hopeful but confident in the fact that whatever is thrown their way ,they can deal with it.I really do believe that the belief of hoping that some day ,in some way the shit will be gone out of life ,is causing more heartbreak and frustration than anything else.Shit times like good times are part of life. They will always be here but our responses to them neednt always be the same.

    Cheers,
    Westside.

This is an email forwarded to me by a trainer in the US (a top trainer there). Its a question a guy asks him.

Thanks for the quick response. To answer your questions, I am 5'6" and about 165. If I had to guess I would say I'm about 15-20% BF. I lost the arm above the elbow due to 3rd and 4th degree burns. I train 3-4 days a week with weights using mostly dumbbells with a few machines mixed in. I've been front squatting but am limited to around 85-95lbs. x 5. The right shoulder just can't handle much more weight. If I could get to 135x5 I would be happy. I would say most important for me is to keep the left arm and shoulder strong and healthy and prehab work to prevent injuries down the road from an asymetrical body. Since the injury I do some sled work and walking for conditioning. I like doing one arm snatches and overhead press. I have a prosthetic but have not used it to train. I should also mention that I have a limited ROM about 110 degrees in the right shoulder.

Thanks again for the help and Happy New Year.

This is what im on about. This guy doesnt focus on what he cant do despite having one arm,he focuses on what he can do.
