What wrong with looking back at your past I had a good laugh at my old books copy books with the usual someone loves someone all over them, cringefest like, you should never forget your past its made the person you are today, it was meant to just be something light hearted, most students at the time hated peig, but its more at the time with stress of leaving you didn't appreciate it, plus we did a thig Na tit orm also, excellent witty book
Re reading it now half way thru this time I'm enjoying it alot more
And why on earth would you beat yourself up over an Irish book form your youth thats bit silly. But then I got A1 in honours without trying much joys of growing up surrounded by Irish I loved it always

Golly ye call me negative, every hear of enjoying the little things... I also found some pictures form my junior cert results night

O god lol I'm not ashamed to say I very much enjoyed digging into past, and have a lovely clean garage now

Can't say I enjoyed PEIG, it was just part of the curriculum and you did it.
Good on ya Taylor. Still able to 'Leabhart an cupla focal'
Once my leaving was over my irish went the same way(shame really)
but the way the language was taught was all wrong. We weren't taught to speak Irish
just memorise phrases and prose. So for most of my era Irish was a chore.
    Just my opinion
is it as much about culture or just not being able to move
On and wallow in history ?
