Default Dirty tricks and the Gardai.

If one is convicted under the new laws, if they ever come in, you can expect the following.

The press will be informed of an interesting case coming up.

The judge will give the appropriate sentence.

The gardai will mention to the press that the person just convicted is our old friend Bollocks

The press will report about Mr Bollock's travels and experiences etc, and Bollocks will not be able to sue. (in my opinion)

I do hope I am wrong.

The Gardaí have been tipping off the press for years about any interesting cases - nothing new here.

There is an inherent risk taken each and every time you visit a lady, I was visiting a lady in Dublin one evening and as I stepped into the lift a chap I knew through business was getting out. If the look on my face was anything like his then we both looked guilty as hell.

This country is such a small place its nearly impossible not to meet someone you know no matter where you are.

It happened to me once Some other male was also going up in lift, got out at third floor, but headed in a different direction. My lady said there was indeed another escort in the building on the third floor

I did, a month or two ago.

You can guarantee that the first few cases will be all over the Herald and the Sunday World. Neither of which are fit for lining a birdcage.

Indeed, I've mentioned this same type of thing on other threads discussing this same topic.

Some time after the new law(s) come in, there inevitably will be some poor lad who gets caught out in a some kind of sting operation, and is made the 'sacrificial lamb' of the of the whole damned thing. He'll be some guy with a wife and kids, a good and up-standing citizen type, who will get put through the entire media circus. He'll have cameras in his face as he's marched in and out of court, he'll possibly/probably lose his family and his job, not to mention his dignity, all because of the pretentious pontificating of those who are opposed to consensual interactions between adults taking place behind closed doors.
