    Although sex trafficking is a horrific ordeal, in my opinion, the criminalisation of the sex industry is more of a political 'moral' issue rather than 'fighting the good fight' in the best interest of sex workers. If they really did consider the best interest of sex workers, they would entertain the opinion of those that are involved in the industry, but rather, the government are failing to carry out empirical research and use spin doctors to regurgitate ambiguous figures. Of course, with the shoe being on the other foot, there is often ambiguous figures in favour of the sex industry too, which is all the more reason to research it properly before imposing sanctions on purchasing sex.

    This article is very refreshing as well as interesting, written about a sex worker called 'Mary' who jokes that her former mainstream job made her feel more like a whore than sex work:
