Extract: ''It should come as no surprise that Jojanneke talked with the people that have had a bad experience in the prostitution industry. It's like making a documentary about airplane travel, but mostly interviewing people that are either scared of flying and had to go on an airplane, or interviewing airplane crash survivors. Of course you're gonna get a negative view on airplane travel, even though statistically it's the safest way to travel.''

There is a concerted and well funded campaign against sex work worldwide, generally using the same arguments, ficticious statistics and cliches. And unless there is a strong opposing voice on behalf of sex workers, this campaign will win.
    2014 in Northern Ireland:

Number of reported attacks on sex workers 70

Number of sex trafficking cases ZERO

The difference this time around is that SW won't be silenced any more. They are speaking up for their rights and it's great.

Dutch sex workers pissed off over lies, disrespect and anti-prostitution stance.

    see: http://marijkevonk.com/dutch-sex-workers-pissed-off/

"It used to be you could just make up stuff, lie about the red light district and attempt to speak for those poor, voiceless girls. Sex workers who didn’t fit into the role of passive victim were simply ignored. But with twitter and other forms of social media, sex workers have a place to get their voices heard and they are noisy indeed!"
