Drivers' numbers
Note: Under a new rule, drivers pick their preferred race numbers. If there was a clash, priority went to the driver placed higher in the 2013 championship.

As world champion, Sebastian Vettel has exercised his right to use one in 2014 and has picked five for rest of his career.

Alonso, who was runner-up to Vettel in 2013, has chosen 14 because he used it during his teenage years in karting and he considers it lucky.

The famously unemotional Raikkonen said he picked seven because "it's the number I already had last year and I saw no reason to change it".

Button asked for 22 because it was the number on his Brawn car when he won his sole world title in 2009.

I wouldn't put it past Red Bull for them to correct the faults and have a competitive car a few races in, but currently the new car looks slow and unreliable.

Interesting too with Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. Rosberg seemed able to match Schumacher sometimes, and he seems faster than Hamilton. He certainly has a better temperament than Hamilton.

After today's testing, and with only three more testing sessions to go, and the first race on 16 March in Albert Park in Australia, Renault's engine problems continue.

With overheating turbo s and energy recovery systems not working, the teams they supply - Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Caterham and Lotus are going to have difficulty even finishing races.

I wait with interest on what the next three days of testing will bring.........

Another big story is that Ross Brawn is telling people he has retired from Motorsport.

When he left Mercedes last year he was expected to take a short break and then join another team.

Of course, a man of his talent, how long before some team makes him an offer he can't refuse?
