Not sure when exactly any proposed law (south) or the recently passed law (north) go into effect, but until they do, there absolutely no crime being committed by anyone on this site.

Any info harvested, like phone numbers or IP addresses at this point in time is useless to them.

That said, it would be very foolish of people to continue to use this site in the same way once these laws do pass, so maybe you are correct that there are some plans afoot to do something about that...

Picture the scenario- cops take note of the current ip addresses of members and do a courtesy call to houses in 18 months time telling you they noted your presence onthe site back then and hope you are behaving yourself- nice and frienlly community policing- irish style

And which cops would this be? The ones who can magically get, without anything more than a phone call, all these ip addresses from the isp without a warrant, on people who are not performing a crime, where even if the bill does pass, it's a crime only once proven, and the penalty is a max fine of €500?

Let's not let the paranoia get on top of us just yet...
