Thread: Justice

    Thumbs down Justice

A British businessman accused of organising his wife's murder while on honeymoon in Cape Town is due to be flown to South Africa this week after a hard-fought legal battle against extradition.

Shrien Dewani, 34, a care-home owner from Bristol, will reportedly fly from London Heathrow airport on Monday night and is expected to make a brief court appearance the following day.

He is accused of ordering the murder of his wife, Anni, 28, in November 2010, who was shot as the couple travelled in a taxi through the Gugulethu township while on honeymoon.

    Finally some justice....

You would hope so, but I wonder if the legal system South Africa use - no jury, just a Judge with two assistants works?

Hi Jericho, make no mistake South Africa has its flaws in many ways but justice can not be bought. The judge
has to go through extensive studies and channels before being sworn in to practice.

Shrien's family is very wealthy and that wealth has only been able to keep him in the uk until now. The South African tourism board is determined to show the world that this was not a random act of violence.

I didn't mean to question the ability of the Judge, just wondered if it's not better to be tried by a larger panel, be it a jury or more than one Judge. Either way I hope that this lady's family will finally get justice.

The person he hired to kill his new bride, grassed him up after getting caught himself. From what I remember there were texts between the two of them and large sums of money mentioned.

Also the way in which this bastard behaved following his new brides death and pulled every stupid trick to try and not answer questions makes him look guilty.

If you were on honeymoon and your new wife is murdered you would do everything possible to try and get the person caught and brought to justice.

Raising the question, would you murder someone you'd just married?

Hope justice is done, a very despicable act and very distressing for brides family and friends.

Heard the news on Sky earlier.
    Sad day for the family.

So much for the scales that measures justice.
