Do you know...I typed something almost indentical earlier and deleted it because I decided id start a war here.
But youre dead right..........If that bunch of idiots got into power we would all be f@@@ed.
They turn out this mantra about taking from the rich and giving to the poor because they know their support is largely made up of people who believe they are entitled to this, and entitled to that......but never want to give or contribute on an equal scale.
(Again there are exceptions..............not as many as id like though)

The only reason this death is in the news is because he died so close to Lenister house. There are people dying everyday from drugs, drink, cancer, car crashes, suicide, all fucking sorts of shit. It is not known why this man died, did he OD or did he have health issues. He was offered accommodation but did not want it (only half heard that on news) but yet no one gives a shit about all the other deaths. This is being made in to a political issue as a way to down the Government (no matter what party it is he still would have died)
I'm sorry the man died but this story is all about politics, how could this happen blah! blah! The postmortem will tell us why it happened but by that stage the media will have locked onto something else and that mans death will be forgotten only to be brought up during political debates.

It shows how chronic the problem with homelessness is. I used to volunteer myself (don't have as much time anymore) and have heard from friends volunteering, that it's near impossible to get a hostel at the moment. Last night my friend put up a post:

"It's freezing cold out in the city centre. In the short walk from Pearse Street Station to Stephens Green I've overheard a man explaining to his friend the hostel he was trying to get into was full and seen five people in flimsy sleeping bags on the street."

It is a political issue, that politicians are unable to provide housing. And regarding him refusing housing, we don't know under what circumstances he refused that housing.

An interesting piece on Utah and how they reduced homeless by providing housing and a social worker to each homeless person.

I did the same, had few huge bags of clothes so contacted focus, and they said I can take them to their office in Temple Bar, small thing I know but still, might be help for someone, least what I hope, focus seems much much better than the bags some charities leaves in front of doors, I know for sure many clothes goes to second hand shops across Eastern Europe not for those who really needs it.
    Good bye Ireland!
