Default Why do some clients do this?

So you have a client where he's a regular or he's someone you've met 4+ times without any issues then all of a sudden they become complete timewasters? What's that all about?

I had a client coming at lunchtime today who I've met a good few times where he's been as good as gold but the last 3 bookings, he's cancelled at the last minute.

I'm not impressed, he's had his 3 strikes so he's now banned!

    Sorry, just venting

    Kendra,
Can't answer for the client as im not him but...

    1. Could be that he really wishes to meet but finances wont allow it
    2. Maybe he's in a relationship and the other half is getting suspicious
    3. Maybe he's at a stage where he's debating if this is for him.
    4. Maybe he's falling for you and at the last minute decides better...
    5. Maybe he's just a timewaster

    Thats my tuppence worth...

Has he given a reason when cancelling?

He always says work but that's not good enough. He shouldn't be booking appointments if there's a chance he can't make it.

I don't think it's fair how anyone thinks their work or meetings are any more important than my work. This is how I earn a living so with clients messing us about, it costs us money as we could have met someone else.

Doing it at the last minute also doesn't give me enough time to arranange something else.

Yeah but unless it's number 5, why go to the bother of booking and then cancelling.

None of these though should be my problem, it's not an excuse to waste someone's time especially 3 times in a row. He just shouldn't be doing it at all if any of the above are a problem from him. I know he doesn't have a wife or gf so I doubt it's that. I think he's just became a time waster.

It's quite common for regular clients to suddenly think they can piss you about. They get more chances than someone I have never met but in the end, they still get banned if they continue to waste my time.

I always give a new client the benefit of the doubt with a cancellation so I will give him another chance but if he lets me down twice then he's out, if it's someone I have met before then they get 3 chances, I think that's fair. A client who doesn't show up without cancelling never gets another chance, his number is automatically blocked.

Might be that you somehow annoyed him so he's on revenge mission, might be a nutter who expects discount or extra time after couple of visits.

That's silly. No I haven't done anything to annoy him and I don't rush my clients either so he will already have had plenty of free time.
