Default When will it become a crime to pay for sex in The Republic?

Im not fully up to speed here buts clearly this is now a foregone conclusion.

Anyone know how long it will take to enact the legislation? Realistically what are we talking about here, a month? a year?

Fairly sure be knocking this tomfoolery on the head when it comes through but ill be intent on going out with a bang.

Really? Seems like a long time for something that the politicos see as urgent and has little or no opposition.

i wouldnt classify it as urgent. the abortion bill or whatever that was urgent. this is lingering in the background and between meetings and what not will take that amount of time id say from when its proposed to implemented proper. This bill is kind of divisive because the men dont really care whether it is introduced (and i speculate that they would rather it wasnt) but women do want it.

In case people think i am targeting women, im not. women are not lets say like the water charges marching on the streets in their thousands to have this implemented. But they are collectively demanding albeit quietly that something be done.

They could also use it in the run up to the election to earn political brownie points.

I know that the Minister said it will need time, so luckily they won't push it though. Labour are going to use it as political brownie points seeing that they'll probably end up like the Green Party in the next election.

I am kinda hoping the government will fall apart before then.
