Was reading an article about this a few days ago in some magazine ...honour crimes... they where talking about a case of shafilea ahmed a young girl killed by her parents because they believed she brought shame to her family ... this is just ...i don't think i can even find the right words... what's your opinion on this?

I don't think words can express how I feel about this Alexa. I understand different cultures have different standards and view points but this is just not understandable under any circumstances.

I totally agree, I cannot understand how a parent can kill their own child. I remember many years ago I saw an interview with the father of a young girl who killed herself as a suicide bomber, he said that he was proud of her, sorry I just cannot comprehend this attitude.

This is unbelievable in this day and age. How could any culture lead a parent to kill their own child because they thought she was "shaming" them by trying to fit in with the world around her?

Apparently the couple suffocated Shafilea with a plastic bag after years of abuse. I can't imagine how scared the other children must have been to keep this a secret for so long. Just a terrible story.

It just goe,s to show that Islam is not compatable with western ideology or their interpretation of the Koran, which is suppose to be a book of peace. How any parent can kill their own child for the sake of family honour is beyond me.
I just think the whole think is pure sick and evil. If they don,t believe in western ways then they should not live here.

Interpretation of the koran is the key part there, everyone seem's to have their own idea's on what the meanings actually are and distort them for their own ends.

When you see a story like that you just can't comprehend what goes through the minds of people like this. To resort to killing their own child because in their eyes she dishounered the family it's just unbelievable.
