    Total spending on Senate races reached over $200 million. President Obama's job performance (53%) disapprove.

    Are those two statements linked? Because I think you'll find Obama spent close to $1bn getting elected, and the Senate approval rating is much lower than Obama's...

    After all the fanfare on his arrival and all the talk of a new dawn in the US it is fast looking likely that after serving 2 full
    terms in office Obama will end up being one of the most unpopular and unsuccesful presidents ever.
    If he loses control of the Senate aswell as congres his last 2 years will be a nightmare for him.
    The republicans just need a 6 seat swing and his goose is cooked.
    The Health care bill has been almost as big a debacle as our effort at Irish Water and after all the stimlus etc the economy
    is very fragile and just stuttering along with high unemployment etc. Basically he has failed on the big ticket issues ,promised
    alot and delivered little sounds all too familiar im afraid
    Blatant promotion should be outlawed

    All true, note I was not defending the man, just pointing out that the op seemed to place two random facts next to each other.

    Fwiw, I think he's a good man and has done much to repair the damage of his predecessor, but he's still a politician like all the rest and has to do what his fundraisers want...
