I see Sylvia Hermon from Northern Ireland was one of the signatures on the bill.

In reality it was never going to go anywhere. English too broad-minded to be bothered by such rubbish. They had hoped to sneak it in unnoticed, and couldn't even do that.
For the record, I am proud to be Irish too. But I would be a lot prouder if my fellow-countrymen throughout the Island were more tolerant, broad-minded and sensible.

I want to live in a modern, tolerant and liberal society but I don't want to emigrate

Good news from England and Wales then. I am sorry to say this, but Ireland is a pretty backward little island in the grand scheme of things. At least I am 1/4 English .
If you touch me, you might get a wee prick.
